About

University Lodge, Sheffield meets at Tapton Masonic Hall, Shore Lane, on the second Wednesday of each month except for the holiday months of July, August and September. Our Annual Installation Meeting is in March.

Lodge meetings usually begin at 6.00pm with the exception of the Installation Meeting which commences 4.00pm. After every meeting we enjoy a dinner in the dining rooms of Tapton Hall.

There is normally a rehearsal for the meeting on the Tuesday before the Lodge meets.

University Lodge, Sheffield was founded for Freemasons with a University education or employed as teaching or administrative staff in any higher education establishment. This still being true the Lodge has also taken an active role in the United Grand Lodge of England’s Universities Scheme whose goal it is to help young men start their journey in Freemasonry. Having been a member of the Scheme since its inception, University Lodge, Sheffield has a vibrant membership base of students and professional people – many of whom have found the Lodge through the Universities Scheme.

The Lodge always welcomes visiting Brethren – whether visiting Sheffield for a short time or staying in Sheffield – we always make new faces feel very welcome at our meetings and dinner afterwards.
